Brightening Body Lotion

● Retinol (vitamin A 0.5%): Retinol increases skin cell turnover, stimulates collagen production, reduces hyperpigmentation, smooths the skin and improves overall skin health.

● Niacinamide (vitamin B3): Niacinamide brightens and hydrates skin, prevents signs of aging, increases collagen production and repairs the skin.

● Ascorbyl palmitate (vitamin C): A strong antioxidant, vitamin C reduces hyperpigmentation and signs of aging, and smoothes fine lines and wrinkles.

● Tocopheryl acetate: A form of vitamin E that helps protect the skin from UV damage, it also prevents signs of aging and promotes skin healing.

● Tetrahydrodiferuloylmethane: A potent antioxidant derived from turmeric, tetrahydrodiferuloylmethane helps protect the skin from free radical damage, reduces inflammation and brightens the skin.

● Glycerin: Glycerin is a humectant that attracts moisture to the skin and helps keep it hydrated.

● Sunflower seed oil: A lightweight, non-greasy oil that is easily absorbed by the skin, sunflower seed oil helps nourish and hydrate the skin. It is also rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids that help protect the skin from free radical damage.

● Macadamia ternifolia seed oil: A luxurious oil that deeply nourishes and moisturises the skin, it is rich in fatty acids and antioxidants. This makes it ideal for promoting skin elasticity and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

● Shea butter: A rich, moisturising ingredient that is high in essential fatty acids and vitamins A and E, it helps nourish and protect the skin. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that help soothe irritation and redness.

● Coconut oil: This oil is rich in medium-chain fatty acids that penetrate the skin easily and help to hydrate and nourish it. It also has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that can help to soothe and protect the skin.

● Emblica officinalis fruit extract: Also known as Indian gooseberry or amla extract, emblica officinalis is rich in vitamin C, antioxidants, and essential nutrients that help brighten the skin, reduce hyperpigmentation, and promote a more even skin tone.

Retinol works by increasing cell turnover, which can help slough away old and damaged cells and break apart areas of pigmentation. It reduces the production of melanin by inhibiting an enzyme called tyrosinase and promotes collagen production by stimulating fibroblasts – helping to reduce the signs of ageing and improve skin firmness. Retinol also has antioxidant properties that protect the skin from free radical damage that causes premature ageing.

Please note: Retinol thins the outermost layer of the skin, making it more susceptible to damage from ultraviolet (UV) radiation. When used without adequate sun protection, Retinol can intensify the damage from UV rays.

We recommend using our Brightening Bar and Body Lotion at night so the retinol works while you sleep and reduces the risk of sun sensitivity during the day. We also recommend always using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a high SPF (30 or higher). Look for a sunscreen that protects against both UVA and UVB rays, and apply it generously to all exposed areas of the skin.
